7th Heaven is a family-friendly 1 hour "dramedy" which follows the adventures of the large extended family of Protestant Reverend Camden, his wife, and their children Matthew, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruth, and baby twins Sam and David. Despite being produced by Spelling Entertainment, best known for series such as Charmed, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills: 90210, the long-running series is generally considered an excellent source of harmless, wholesome, well-meaning and inoffensive family drama where all the problems of the world are wrapped up in 44 minutes.
Allison Mack appeared in the third season episode "Cutters" as Lucy's new best friend Nicole Jacob. When Mary discovers that Nicole has been cutting herself, Nicole begs Mary to keep her secret. Mary believes Nicole to be a bad influence on Lucy, and is torn about revealing Nicole's problem to Lucy or her parents. The highly rated and critically acclaimed episode focussed on the disease of self-mutilation, and Rev. Camden helped convince Nicole's father to help his daughter get treatment. |
